Formerly a top fashion model, almost 5'10'' in height, Carey was an a fan favorite of high-end American designers such as Calvin Klein and Ralph Lauren. The father of Carey was a geologist who traveled across the globe as part of his professional career. While modeling, she studied literature full time at New York University. Following a few years she began to develop an passion for acting. She attended the Neighborhood Playhouse New York. Her first acting experience was in an appearance with Robin Williams in the 1986 film "Club Paradise. Skiing, white water rafting and rock climbing are her preferred pursuits.
