Adele

AdeleAdkins was the daughter of a single mother of just a few years born in a variety of working-class London neighborhoods. Adkins was a fan of contemporary pop music as a child and also learning how to play the clarinet, as well as the guitar. She came across Etta, a mid-century rhythm-and blues vocalist, in her teens, and started to pursue a career an artist. While she was honed in her skills at a school that was funded by the government for the performing arts, a friend started posting songs Adkins wrote and recorded onto the social network site Myspace. Following her graduation her music caught the attention of record label. She was signed in 2006 with XL Recordings.
